Personal data

Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in the data controller’s possession or likely to come into such possession. The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (the ‘GDPR’).

Who we are

Our website address is: https://www.themecfsholisticcoach.com. Julie Holliday (The ME/CFS Self-Help Guru) is the data controller. That means she decides how your personal data is processed and for what purposes.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it:

Comments

If you leave a comment on the site, I ask for your name, email (which is not displayed on the site) and website (if you’ve got one) This information is used so other visitors will know who left the comment. The website also collects the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact form

The information collected via the form (name, email and message) simply allows me to reply to you and answer any questions.

Arrange and appointment form

The information collected via the form (name, email and skype or google+ contact details) simply allow me to contact you about the appointment and connect with you at the time of the appointment. Email subscription sign up form

The information collected on the email subscription sign-up form: email address, first name* and last name* (* optional) is used to send you emails about my news, events, products and services, as well as my special sign up offer. As a member of my email list you can elect to be offered priority discounts on my products and services. I do not share this information for any purpose (unless legally obliged to do so). I use INBOX to store this information and send you emails. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time. Sharing Tools

If you use one of the ‘Share’ buttons, an anonymous cookie may be set by addthis.com to help you to easily bookmark/share selected pages through a number of popular social networks. Leaving a Comment

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Who we share your data with

I will not share your contact information with anybody, unless compelled by law.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you use the contact form or the arrange an appointment form your data will be kept for as long as necessary to answer questions and complete any services engaged (see terms and conditions).

What rights you have over your data

Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

The right to request a copy of the personal data which The ME/CFS Self-Help Guru holds about you;

The right to request that The ME/CFS Self-Help Guru corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;

The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for The ME/CFS Self-Help Guru to retain such data;

The right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time;

The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;

The right to object to the processing of personal data;
